Dr. Colin Wilson

After much review, and twelve years caring for my patients in the Comox Valley, I have decided to step away from our Courtenay office, effective immediately.
This was not an easy decision. To provide for your future care, I leave you in the hands that helped shaped me as the chiropractor I am today.

Dr. von Schilling is not only my clinical partner, but also my step-father. The impact he had on my young life lead me down this path. Much of what I practice was learned from Dr. Ernie, though I may have also taught him a few things.

Your patient files remain in this office for ease of transition, so be sure to come in and see Dr. Ernie. Our styles are very similar, however be sure to guide him to your treatment preferences.

It has been my absolute pleasure and honour to take care of you for these many years, and look forward to seeing you on the streets, trails or slopes of the valley.

Yours truly,
Dr. Colin Wilson

A chance meeting on the cross country trails in Paradise Meadows set forth a course that would bring Dr. Colin Wilson to choose Chiropractic as his career. Through quick growth phases, a scoliosis curve developed in his spine, creating stress and reduction of spinal mobility. While skiing the nordic trails, Dr. von Schilling noticed his spine and suggested that Chiropractic could be of assistance.

Through joining of families, Dr. Colin grew up with regular adjustments, active lifestyle and lots of fresh air. By grade 9, Dr. Wilson had decided that Chiropractic would be his career path.

Dr. Colin Wilson graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas Texas in 1999 and returned home to practice on Vancouver Island. You can often find him outside skiing, mountain biking, hiking or other outdoor activities and taking photos along the way.

Between 2001 and 2006, Dr. Wilson practiced in Port McNeill, Port Hardy, Alert Bay, Port Alice and Woss. In 2006 he opened an office in Cumberland, BC, becoming the first chiropractor to work in the village. As of May 1st, 2014, Dr. Wilson is now Downtown Courtenay with his step-father, Dr. Ernie von Schilling, at 102-307 5th Street in Courtenay. As of March 1, 2018, Dr. Wilson is now practicing solely out of Port Hardy.

Each summer Dr. Wilson joins the BC Bike Race as Basecamp Medical Director and Chiropractor for this 7 day endurance mountain bike race.

In accordance with BC Chiropractic Association guidelines, Dr. Wilson attends continuing education seminars in various topics.
